Courtney is an engineer and project manager with extensive experience in commercial and hospitality construction. A graduate of Tufts University, Courtney earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a minor in Engineering Management.
While working for Turner Construction Company, a multi-national firm and the Nation's largest general contractor, Courtney acted as Project Engineer for large commercial projects including the United States Patent & Trademark Office Consolidation Projects and The Newseum, both in the Washington, D.C. area. In contributing to this 110+ year-old company, which completes $10B of construction on 1,500 projects each year, Courtney also led and developed an engineering team.
Most recently, Courtney managed simultaneous projects with budgets exceeding $25M for an engineering firm operating on six continents. In this role, Courtney supervised the RFP, bid review and bid award processes. While establishing and implementing master project schedules, Courtney also developed cash flow projections and financial forecasts for numerous projects. Her financial management responsibilities extended to the review, submission and tracking of invoices, purchase orders and other financial commitments and exposures against the project budget.
In addition to roles within sizable engineering organizations, Courtney's background also includes six years of project management experience with a boutique consulting firm responsible for a variety of multimillion dollar hospitality construction projects.
